Beyond the bike with Marco Osborne! Marco is one of our longest-standing athletes and embodies our Party in the Woods culture to the fullest. In this new video he takes us through his off season activities both on and off the bike. For Marco, the offseason means a whole bunch of bike testing. Not only is he testing frame sizes but suspension, tires and bar height. Marco has been racing for the last 13 years, with 10 of those at the World Cup level. This year he has focused more than ever on dialing in the perfect set up for himself. The variety of terrain and conditions in Enduro World Cups is the ultimate test. To keep him fresh and prepared for the season, Marco rides all his bikes depending on the style of ride he's getting into for the day. For bigger adventures or quick pedal-from-home rides, he grabs his Spur. When he's got a shuttle driver lined up for Tahoe's rugged trails he grabs his Spire equipped with a dual crown fork. And currently, his go to rig for racing, is his Sentinel with the travel bumped up to 160mm in the rear. Check out this new video to see the variety of activities Marco gets up to while prepping for his busy season of riding and hunting. Tight, twisty and loose - mountain biking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Just before catching the one that got away. While he has been riding and racing bikes for the last 15 years, his passion for the outdoors is what motivates him to keep charging on and off the race track. Marco has fished since his childhood and recently has become obsessed with archery. "Hunting teaches you how to deal with failure." -Marco Not only does hunting and fishing give Marco the opportunity to be outside, but it also allows him to better understand himself and the process of learning. Like anything, learning something new brings on all sorts of new challenges. For Marco, the mistakes he's made hunting and fishing, set him up better to take on the challenges of life in general. Marco on the way to the fishing hole. We've seen enduro through all it's identities and Marco is here for the big days in the mountains. While it's nice having his race bike set up with heavier duty parts to take the abuse of race tracks. His Spur provides that effortless feel for days when his backpack is full of meat snacks and tools to find somewhere new in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Archery is new to Marco, and he's stoked for the challenge. CHARGING! Tahoe's unforgiving terrain lends itself to a downhill bike. With Marco already familiar with the Spire from testing, he gathered parts for his Spire build to pile in the shuttle rig or head to the legendary Northstar Bike Park. His DH Spire is all about desensitizing him to speed and gnar! After a few days on this bike he can jump back on his Sentinel and riding feels effortless on slower speed race tracks and trails. Always on the hunt for sheds. The one that got away, he'll be back for more! Marco's season has been off to a ripping start with a 6th place finish at the Poland Enduro World Cup. We're stoked to see him continue to charge it this summer and through the fall. Be sure to follow along with his adventures over on Marco's page. Send it Randy! |
