Transition Bikes TR11 Alloy Chainstay Recall & Replacement Form

Transition Bikes is conducting a voluntary recall for TR11 alloy framesets and complete bikes with serial numbers TBC4801XXX, TBC4802XXX, or TBC4803XXX. We need you to stop riding your TR11 immediately.

In some cases, the metal of the chainstay and yoke may not have been sufficiently heated during welding, which can lead to poor weld penetration and possible failure. We have seen a limited number of failures and no injuries have been reported thus far. Unfortunately, there is no way to determine which units are affected by visual inspection.

We have already started to manufacture updated replacements and our hope is to be shipping these to bike shops and customers before the end of July. You can take your bike to a local dealer, who can complete this recall replacement form for you and coordinate the replacement. If you prefer to work with us directly, or do not have a dealer nearby, please fill out this recall replacement form on your own as quickly as possible.

To help us track this, please email support@transitionbikes.com with the serial number of the bike in the subject line. Please include photos of the serial number and the chainstay cut in half. Getting us this information quickly and accurately will ensure you get your replacement chainstay as early as possible.
