WARRANTY POLICY
At Transition Bikes, we take pride in the quality of our products. Our frames are manufactured to withstand the rigors and abuse modern mountain bike trails can dish out. That said, anything can break given just the right amount of time, wear, or misfortune. Everyone here at Transition Bikes is committed to keeping you riding and we realize every warranty and or crash replacement situation is unique. You have our guarantee that we will do our best to make sure we keep you riding while limiting any downtime. The TR11 alloy frameset is covered for life against manufacturing defects. This policy applies to original owners only. Transition Bikes will repair or replace any original purchaser's individual frame parts or complete frame at our discretion. You must register your frame on our site with your serial number and provide proof of purchase to qualify for a warranty. In the event of an issue with your frame Transition Bikes will determine whether it qualifies as a ‘Warranty Issue’ or is covered under our ‘Crash Replacement Policy’ (see below for details). In the event that you have to send back all or part of your frame under warranty, you are responsible for the shipping costs to get it to us and we will pay the return shipping. *Our warranty policy does not cover: Any labor costs associated to the warranty claim. Modifications from stock configuration. Normal wear-and-tear damage. Paint damage caused by the removal of protective tapes or adhesives. CRASH REPLACEMENT In addition to our warranty, all Transition Bikes frames are covered for life under our “Crash Replacement Policy” to the original or second hand owner. If for any reason you should find yourself with a damaged frame, you may send us the broken frame section, and we will replace it for the best possible price we can, assuming we have the replacement part available. If we do not have the piece available, we will attempt to work out a crash replacement price on a replacement frame set. The customer is responsible for all shipping costs to get the frame to and from Transition Bikes. WE GET IT - PEOPLE WHO RIDE OUR BIKES RIDE HARD Above is our official stance, since to some degree these things need to be spelled out. But our entire philosophy is based around being a rider-owned company, and we take that seriously. We're well aware that not every circumstance can be accounted for and not every case falls neatly into one of the above categories. We look at every warranty and crash replacement case with a fresh lens and treat every situation in the manner in which we would expect it to be handled. Our goal is to leave no rider who supports us without support in return. WARRANTY/CRASH REPLACEMENT CLAIM FORM To submit a Warranty/Crash Replacement Claim within the United States or Canada, you must have an account with us. To sign in to your existing account or create a new account, follow this link. Once you are signed in, click on Warranty Claims to submit a claim. Our International Distributors handle warranty cases outside the United States and Canada. Please contact your region's distributor to get a claim started. If you have any other questions regarding our warranty or crash replacement policies, please email us at warranty@transitionbikes.com or call us by phone, at (360) 366-4960, extension 2.
Can I pre-order a bike?
We do not accept pre-orders for direct purchase, but you can sign up to be notified when an item comes back in stock. If you are a customer who is looking to order a bike through your local Transition dealer or through the Transition Factory Outpost Store you will want to reach out to them directly.
Can I remove or substitute any parts when I buy a frame or complete bike?
We are not able to remove, substitute or modify any parts included with a frame or complete bike. All parts specified will be included with your purchase.
Can I try a bike before I buy?
We offer three ways to demo a bike. If you find yourself in Bellingham, you can follow this link to schedule a demo through the Outpost. If you live somewhere else, you can follow this link to see what shops currently have demo bikes available. And finally, you can view our events page, located here to see which upcoming demo events we'll be participating in.
Do you offer financing?
We provide easy and affordable financing through our partner, Bread, so you can pay for your purchase over time. This option is only available in the USA at this time.
I want to run a coil shock, do you have a spring rate recommendation?
We do not have a spring rate chart or recommendation for this model. Please reach out to the shock manufacturer or use the spring rate calculator here.
What is the maximum rear tire size?
We list a guideline tire size for each frame, but the real answer is: it depends. Tire brand, tread pattern, rim width, conditions, and how aggressively you ride all play a role. Wider rims can make tires measure larger, and there’s variability between sizes and manufacturers (not all 29” x 2.4” tires are created equal). If you ride in mud, you'll need extra clearance to avoid packing up. If you push the bike hard, you could flex the rear wheel enough to cause tire rub on the rear triangle—even if you think you’ve got plenty of clearance. So, what's the takeaway? Please use common sense. If your wheel is properly dished, trued, and tensioned and your tire is rubbing hard enough to damage the frame, you’re probably running too big of a tire.
What is the warranty policy for this model?
This frameset is covered for life against manufacturing defects for the original owner and comes with a lifetime crash replacement policy. You can read more about our warranty and crash replacement policy on our Support Page.
What size do I need?
Looking for a little giddy-up in your life, but not sure what size you need? Take a look at our human specific sizing guide located here.
Will installing frame protection affect the warranty?
Installing frame protection will not affect your warranty, but we do caution against installing it on neon or brightly-colored models as these paints are more susceptible to discoloration and fading. Paint fade is not covered under our factory warranty.
What size rear wheels are compatible?
The TR11 uses a 12x148mm hub spacing 27.5 rear wheel. It is not compatible with a 29 rear wheel. The TR11 will not work with 12x150mm or 12x157mm rear hubs. The 12x148mm Boost spacing is commonly used on trail bikes, allowing you to share rear wheels with your pedal bike as needed.
Can I run the TR11 with dual 27.5 wheels?
Yes, with dual 27.5 wheels your head angle will be a little bit steeper and your bottom bracket will be a little bit lower. In order to minimize the changes, we would recommend using a 29 fork. If you are converting a complete bike, all you would need is a different front wheel and tire.
Can I run a different shock with the TR11?
Yes, you can run a different shock, the TR11 works great with both coil and air shocks. However, larger volume shocks like the Fox Float X2 and Rockshox Vivid may not be compatible with size small and medium frames. Transition Bikes is not responsible for any damage to a frame caused by a shock that we do not spec. Always check bottom out clearances before riding a non-spec shock and to verify fitment email us at info@transitionbikes.com.
Can I run a single crown fork on the TR11?
The TR11 is designed specifically for dual crown forks, and a single crown fork may contact the downtube. We strongly discourage using a single crown fork with the TR11. If you absolutely need to run a single crown fork, you must use a headset that limits the steering range to prevent damage to the frame or fork. Click here for a compatible lower headset cup for single crown use
Is there a carbon option or one coming down the line?
The TR11 will only be available in alloy for the foreseeable future.
Can I run the headset position in the -5mm setting?
Yes, however, if you are using the -5mm headset position, be sure to check for fork arch to head tube interference at full travel with your specific setup. Not all forks are compatible with the -5mm headset position, depending on the axle to crown position.
How do I find tracking for my shipment?
If you have not received an email confirming your tracking number, you can find it by going to your "Order History" once logged in. There you'll see the invoice number, date shipped, shipping carrier, and tracking info, if available. You'll be able to click on the tracking info and be re-directed to the shipping carrier's website. ![]() |
