SRAM's T-Type Transmission is here!
This all new drivetrain is a very exciting step forward that will help our bikes shift smoother, be more robust and easier to maintain. Read on to get our take on why T-type is worth the hype!

EASY SETUP:
Whether you are purchasing a bike with T-type already installed or upgrading any of our UDH frames, setting up a Transmission drivetrain is quick and results in perfect shifting. Included with the drivetrain is an easy to follow process that guides you through the steps. You no longer have a B tension or limit screws to mess with, just a few steps and AXS does the rest. In addition, chain length is determined by your chainstay length, removing the need to guess and possibly run a chain that isn’t the right length.
SIMPLICITY:
Electronic drivetrains sometimes get the reputation for adding complexity to our bikes, but in this case T-type AXS Transmissions have actually simplified the system as a whole, and reduced the number of places for problems to occur. Without cables there is no need to worry about cable tension or any of the ancillary issues that arise with a cable actuated drivetrain. Any shifting error is quickly fixed via the pod shifter on the bar. All you need to worry about is periodically charging the battery and you’re good to go! Truly “set and forget” so you can spend less time adjusting your shifting and more time riding.

ROBUST AND DURABLE:
We know this will challenge many long held beliefs by mountain bikers, but T-type Transmission is far more durable and robust. Given our long history of derailleurs being a weak (and expensive) point on the bike, derailleur hangers were always there to bend or break before any damage was done elsewhere. This mentality assumes that the derailleur can’t be as strong as all the other parts on our bike that we expect to hold up in the event of an impact or crash. This is where T-type breaks the mold. With its new hangerless interface, there isn’t a hanger to bend or break, and the derailleur is built strong enough to take most impacts. It’s designed intentionally to be strong like all the components on our bikes, vs intentionally weak. In the case that a derailleur is damaged, you can now order individual parts for replacement, rather than a whole new derailleur.
COMPATIBILITY:
We have always avoided proprietary standards that make life challenging for customers looking to swap components or find replacement parts. Luckily with T-type, you can easily pick up a SRAM UDH from any bike shop or online and bolt on a standard derailleur if you would prefer. And visa-versa, if you currently have a Transition with a UDH, your bike is compatible and ready for T-type right now!
