Type: Full-Time Year-Round Location: Bellingham, WA (in-office, no remote or hybrid options) Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience Reports To: Sales Director
Transition Bikes is looking for a driven and community-minded leader for our Bellingham showroom and service space. In this role, you’ll oversee all aspects of the Transition Outpost including sales, service, operations, and community engagement, ensuring the experience reflects the stoke, authenticity, and quality that define the Transition brand. You’ll lead a talented team, build connections with riders, and keep the Transition Outpost running efficiently day to day while keeping an eye on long-term growth and sustainability.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Team Development
Hire, train, and inspire the Transition Outpost team, ensuring alignment with TR’s values and customer experience standards.
Provide clear direction through regular meetings, goal setting, and consistent communication.
Foster a positive, inclusive culture built on teamwork and accountability.
Identify opportunities for staff development to help team members grow in their roles.
Partner with the Assistant Manager to ensure smooth daily operations and strong floor coverage.
Sales, Service & Operations
Oversee sales and service departments to ensure efficiency, collaboration, and exceptional customer experiences.
Set and track sales goals, analyze performance metrics, and make data-informed adjustments.
Maintain operational excellence in scheduling, cash handling, purchasing, and inventory management.
Ensure the showroom, service area, and bar are clean, organized, and aligned with TR’s brand presentation.
Oversee purchasing and inventory operations for the Transition Outpost, collaborating with the Inventory and Receiving Manager to maintain the right product mix and stock levels for bikes, apparel, and accessories.
Ensure all staff are properly trained and licensed for beer service and uphold TR’s welcoming, community vibe.
Community & Events
Work with the entire OP team to plan and execute Transition Outpost events, demos, and local activations.
Represent TR in the community by building relationships with local riders, partners, and trail organizations.
Contribute ideas for community engagement and in-store experiences that strengthen brand connection.
Business & Cross-Department Collaboration
Participate in budgeting, reporting, and forecasting with the Sales Director.
Share customer insights and trends with other departments including sales, warranty, product development, and marketing.
Ensure the Transition Outpost remains aligned with the broader goals of the company and the Transition brand as a whole.
Oversee scheduling and travel logistics for the Transition Outpost team.
Handle additional administrative or operational needs as they arise.
Requirements and Qualifications
Experience managing or supervising a team in bike service and a sales environment.
Strong understanding of mountain bikes, components, bike setup, and mechanics.
3+ years of leadership experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage budgets, scheduling, and inventory.
Positive, team-first attitude with a hands-on approach.
Must have (or be eligible to earn) a valid M.A.S.T permit to serve alcohol (must be 21+).
Must live in, or be willing to relocate to, Bellingham, WA.
