Torsenn Brown spent the last 2 years building jumps and stacking footage to fully cement his transition from racer to freerider. With a background in DH racing, combined with a childhood spent on the ski slopes, Torsenn has crafted his skillset to allow him to excel in all sorts of terrain. For this video, he didn't want to build the classic "trick step up" or super manicured features to throw tricks on, instead, he opted for huge consequence moves, linked with technical trail.
It's difficult to capture on camera the size of some of these features. Not only is this stepdown massive, but it comes after 3 high speed lily pad stepdowns, making speed judgment difficult. "We go out and do these builds in the woods not only because we enjoy doing it, but also it's the only real way we can ride exactly what we want to ride. It's quite the commitment if you want to see a build come to life in the woods. The main trail that we built took about two years, while the other random bits were around a month or two. I could go on and on about all the challenges and obstacles that are presented when it comes to building in the Bellingham woods, but that's what makes it so special and so much sweeter when you finally get to experience the final product." - Torsenn
Building large features that are connected in a line isn't an easy task, but it makes it all the more rewarding.
This is PNW freeride in a nutshell. Torsenn pilots whatever bike he's riding with style and speed in his new video Hydro. Catch what Torsenn gets up to this season over on his Instagram page HERE.
