WARRANTY AND RIDER SUPPORT
At Transition Bikes, we take pride in building products designed to handle the ever-increasing demands of modern mountain biking. From the world-renowned terrain right in our PNW backyard, to the sport's biggest stages across the globe, our bikes are meant to be ridden hard by riders pushing the limits of what a mountain bike can do. The mission of our Rider Support Team is simple: Keep our riders riding when things go sideways. Transition Bikes offers real, human support via phone, live chats, and email between the hours of 9am and 5pm PST, Monday through Friday. Whether you're the original owner, purchased your Transition secondhand, or picked one up from your local dealer's demo fleet, we are committed to finding you a fair and timely solution. UNLIMITED RIDER SUPPORT ALL Transition frames are covered by our Unlimited Rider Support program. This program keeps you riding by providing discounted replacement frame parts or repair assistance in the event of damage - regardless of how it happened, or whether you're the original or a secondhand owner. If we are unable to replace or repair your frame part, we will work with you to find a suitable solution. LIFETIME WARRANTY The RELAY, released in 2023, is covered for life against manufacturing defects. This policy applies to original owners only. Lifetime Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the useful life of the product. Riders must register their product on our site by providing the serial number and proof of purchase. Our lifetime warranty does not cover normal wear-and-tear, failures caused by lack of maintenance, cosmetic damage including paint aging or fading, paint damage caused by the installation or removal of frame protection or adhesives, modifications from the original configuration, or labor costs associated with warranty repairs or replacements. In the event of an issue with your frame, Transition Bikes will determine whether it qualifies as a ‘Warranty Issue’ or is covered under our ‘Unlimited Rider Support’ (see below for details). In the event that you have to send back all or part of your frame under warranty, you are responsible for the shipping costs to get it to us, and we will pay the return shipping. WE GET IT, PEOPLE WHO RIDE OUR BIKES RIDE HARD Above is our official stance, since to some degree these things need to be spelled out. Our entire philosophy is based around being a rider-owned company, and we take that seriously. We're well aware that not every circumstance can be accounted for and not every case falls neatly into one of the above categories. We look at every warranty and rider support case with a fresh lens, and treat every situation in the manner in which we would expect it to be handled. Our goal is to leave no rider who supports us without support in return. *We strive for consistency, and our aim is to provide identical, color-matching replacement parts wherever possible. Depending on availability, variations in paint batches, and paint fading slightly with age, a replacement part may come in a slightly different shade, or in some cases, a different color altogether. These differences are cosmetic only, and do not affect the performance of your bike. WARRANTY/RIDER SUPPORT CLAIM FORM To submit a Warranty/Rider Support Claim within the United States or Canada, you must have an account with us. To sign in to your existing account or create a new account, follow this link. Once you are signed in, click on Warranty Claims to submit a claim. Do eMTB models require more maintenance than analog bikes?
Yes, eMTB models can often require more maintenance than analog bikes. The drive unit and battery systems run on firmware that should be kept up to date to ensure that your bike is ready for the trail. Similar to other maintenance requirements, keeping your bike updated (or running diagnostic checks) may require a visit to your local Transition dealer. On occasion, these electronic parts can fail. When that happens, the repair is handled in accordance with the manufacturer's warranty. This may also require a visit to your local Transition dealer.
Do you offer financing?
We provide easy and affordable financing through our partner, Bread, so you can pay for your purchase over time. This option is only available in the USA at this time.

What is the maximum rear tire size?
We list a guideline tire size for each frame, but the real answer is: it depends. Tire brand, tread pattern, rim width, conditions, and how aggressively you ride all play a role. Wider rims can make tires measure larger, and there’s variability between sizes and manufacturers (not all 29” x 2.4” tires are created equal). If you ride in mud, you'll need extra clearance to avoid packing up. If you push the bike hard, you could flex the rear wheel enough to cause tire rub on the rear triangle—even if you think you’ve got plenty of clearance. So, what's the takeaway? Please use common sense. If your wheel is properly dished, trued, and tensioned and your tire is rubbing hard enough to damage the frame, you’re probably running too big of a tire.
What is the warranty policy for this model?
This frameset is covered for life against manufacturing defects for the original owner and comes with a lifetime crash replacement policy. You can read more about our warranty and crash replacement policy on our Support Page.
What size do I need?
Looking for a little giddy-up in your life, but not sure what size you need? Take a look at our human specific sizing guide located here.
Will installing frame protection affect the warranty?
Installing frame protection will not affect your warranty, but we do caution against installing it on neon or brightly-colored models as these paints are more susceptible to discoloration and fading. Paint fade is not covered under our factory warranty.
How does the Relay compare to a full powered eMTB like the Repeater?
The Relay has less power, but is also lighter weight. You should be able to ride in mixed groups with full power eMTBs, but you should expect to be a touch slower, or have to work a bit harder to keep up. The Relay is going to feel more nimble and more similar to a normal non-E MTB.
Are the Relay and Relay PNW frames different?
No, the frames are identical. The difference being the length of travel going from 160mm to 170mm and the rear wheel size changing from 29" to 27.5",
How long will my battery last? How many charge cycles will the battery have?
The remaining battery capacity is affected by temperature and cycle count. Generally, it decreases approximately 5% a year. This means roughly 95% capacity remains after 1 year, and 90% after 2 years.

Can I use a fork with a different amount of travel?
We feel the Relay works best with a fork between 160mm and 170mm of travel.
Can I put a dual crown fork on the relay?
No. The Relay has not been tested for use with a dual crown fork. Due to frame geometry, the steering range would also be too limited.
How do I turn the bike on?
Push up on the ring controller and hold. The LED lights on the top tube will cycle through the different colors to indicate the system has been woken up.
Why wont my bike turn on?
The connectors between the charger and port have magnets in them to help them connect. Make sure that the battery terminal and the energy cable do not have any debris stuck inside, and are clean as those can sometimes pick up metal debris.
How do I charge my bike and how long does it take?
In order to charge your bike you need to remove the battery from the downtube. The battery plugs directly into the charger to charge. Once the charger light goes green your battery is done charging and ready to be put back in the bike. The Relay comes with a 3 amp charger compatible with 100-240 volts of AC power. The Fazua charger can completely charge the 430wh battery in approximately 3.5 hours. The same charger is compatible with cords specific to the USA, EU, and other markets, or a universal wall socket adapter can be used.
How do I open my battery door? or How do I access my battery to charge the battery?
Locate the latch knob on the battery cover door towards the HT. Rotate the knob 180° to release the door and pull down to remove the door. To put the cover back on insert the bottom of the door at the lower end of the battery opening in the downtube first. With the bottom locked into place bring the battery door to the cover of the battery opening so the door is flush and covering the battery opening. Twist the knob 180° aligning the dot on the knob and the door to secure the battery door in place.
How do I install the battery in the bike?
Insert the battery bottom first into the battery rack. Tilt the battery up and into the power cable and battery rack. Once the battery is in place you should hear and feel a clicking noise from the battery engaging in the rack.
Why has my charger stopped working?
On occasion the magnets of the charger cable or the battery, can pick up debris. Unplug the charger, and check to make sure that the end of the charger plug is clean and does not have any metal or debris stuck to the magnets in the charger cable or on the battery.
Is there a range extender available for the Relay?
Currently, there is not a range extender available for the Relay.
How do I update my firmware?
New firmware is periodically available and can be applied to your bike using the Fazua Toolbox software. To update firmware, go to Fazua's website here and follow the directions to download the toolbox and update your software.
How should I store my bike and or battery?
The general rule for lithium-ion batteries is that they should always be stored between 10-15 degrees Celsius, or 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit. If being stored for long periods of time, the battery should be charged to a minimum of 60% and then checked every 8 weeks and recharged if necessary. If the battery is not used for a long period of time and stored at low temperatures, a deep discharge may occur and the battery will be irreparably damaged. Batteries charged below 10 degrees Celsius, or 50 degrees Fahrenheit will have longer charge times and result in less than a full charge. Charging at room temperature is optimum for your battery's capacity and health.
Can I change the max speed?
No. Depending on where you've purchased your Relay it will either have a max assist speed of 20mph or 25km/h. This setting cannot be modified by the user or a dealer.
Can I mount a chainguide or bash guard to the frame?
There is a custom bashring spider included with your Relay. The frame and motor do not have ISCG tabs or mounting for a chainguide.
What position should I run the flip chips?
On the Relay, the geo adjust chips are intended to maintain correct geometry, depending on which rear wheel size is being used. For a 29" rear wheel, you should install the chips in the LOW setting. With a 27.5" rear wheel, you should install the chips in the HIGH setting.
What is the warranty on my bike and Fazua components and how do I file a claim?
