Load up the rig, we're going road tripping! While New Zealand's riding is mainly known for its massive jumps and alpine bike parks sprinkled around Queenstown and the South Island, NZ ambassador, Daniel Cleland, shows us how awesome the North Island's trail centers are. Check out this new video to see what Daniel and his friends get up to on their 48 hour road trip. We didn’t have much time before Christmas, so it turned into a proper strike mission. We pretty much had to pass through Rotorua on the way there, and a good buddy, Tom, does a bunch of riding there, so we thought we’d link up with him too. The Whangamata segment was filmed on tracks built by a good mate of ours, Jonty. Jonty and I grew up riding together, and we enjoy riding the same kind of stuff, so anything he’s built is always a treat. For the Rotorua segment, I used to session this loamer zone when I was a grom, it was always super fun and easy to lap. So we went back to check it out. Shout out to the local groms who’ve kept it alive!" - Daniel Cleland ![]() "Massive thanks to everyone who made the trip possible: George for filming, Rory and Jess for the hospitality, Chris at Revolution/TR New Zealand for supporting the local scene, and all the trail builders who keep the parks and their local scenes alive." - Daniel Cleland Filmed/Edit: George Syme Featuring: Tom Brown, Kobe Mulrennan, and Daniel Cleland |
