Are there options for larger or smaller capacity batteries? Is there a range extender?
Yes there is a range extender planned, however it will not fit on the Repeater PT. The largest 720wh SRAM main battery is already standard.
Can auto-shift be turned off?
You can turn the Auto Shift function on and off by pushing and holding the upper right POD controller button. You can also turn the Auto Shift function on and off using the SRAM AXS app on your mobile device. You can utilize Coast Shift to shift without pedaling at any time, whether Auto Shift is on or off.
Can I connect the Powertrain system to my Garmin/Wahoo head unit? What information can be displayed there?
The SRAM Powertrain System features ANT+ LEV and PWR and can be paired with most head units. The following data is accessible via the protocol:
• Current speed
• Current assist mode
• Battery state of charge
• Remaining range
• Selected gear
• Rider power
Can I ride the Repeater PT without the battery, like the Relay?
No, the Repeater PT cannot be ridden without the battery.
Can the Repeater EP8 be converted to a Powertrain bike?
No. The first Repeater was designed for the Shimano EP8 system and cannot work with any other drive units.
Can you run a Shimano or other non-SRAM drivetrain on the Repeater PT?
The Repeater PT frame will fit any wireless drivetrain, however the SRAM Powertrain system is specifically designed to integrate with SRAM AXS Transmission, so many of the features will be lost and other drivetrains are not recommended.
How do I update the firmware? Does the app/software support all operating systems?
All normal firmware updates can be handled over the air via the SRAM AXS app.
How does the coast shift feature work?
As long as the bike is moving, you can utilize Coast Shift to shift without pedaling at any time, whether Auto Shift is on or off.
How many assist modes does the Repeater PT have? Is there a walk assist?
The SRAM Powertrain system has two simple to understand modes. Range mode to maximize distance, and Rally mode to maximize speed and power. Walk assist, which SRAM refers to as "Push Mode" can be accessed by pushing and holding the upper left POD controller button.
I want to run a coil shock, do you have a spring rate recommendation?
We do not have a spring rate chart or recommendation for this model. Please reach out to the shock manufacturer or use the spring rate calculator here.
Is the battery charged in or out of the bike? How long does the battery take to reach full charge?
The battery is semi-permanently installed, and not designed to be removed for charging. It takes roughly 6 hours for a full charge.
Is the fork on the Repeater PT E-MTB specific?
All RockShox ZEB forks are approved for E bike use, and there is no change in the chassis or fork tune.
Is the SRAM Powertrain system weatherproof? Can I ride it in the rain, or extreme cold/hot conditions?
The Repeater PT can be ridden in all conditions!
Should I only charge my battery when it's completely drained?
No, charge the battery any time you need it. Frequent charges actually help battery longevity. Avoid letting the battery discharge completely. Charge to 70% before storing for long periods.
What is the warranty on the Repeater PT? Who do I contact for warranty support?
Powertrain components are covered under warranty for a period of two years. If you need service or warranty assistance on your Powertrain system, please contact your local SRAM dealer.
What settings can be changed on the Powertrain system?
You can tune the motor values with the SRAM AXS app. Max power and assist percentage can be adjusted independently for Range and Rally modes. Auto shift and target cadence range can be adjusted on the bike using the POD controllers, or on your mobile device via the SRAM AXS app.
