GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITIES

At Transition we not only believe in supporting trail building and advocacy but also making our beloved sport accessable to all communities. Below are some of the rad non-profit organizations that we are lucky to help support to make mountain biking something everyone can enjoy. givingback@transitionbikes.com


The AIROW Project's Mission is to create adaptive, accessible riding opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The funds donated to AIROW go towards providing adaptive gear, scholarships, and creating free events for those within Whatcom county.

Flying Squirrels is a mountain bike club for girls. Our focus is on building a fun, supportive girl's biking community, gaining biking skills, and having a blast together out in the woods. Located in Bellingham, WA, the Flying Squirrels is part of the WMBC after school ride program.

Vamos Outdoors Project is a local Bellingham non-profit that works to eliminate barriers to access that make it harder for Latinx and English Language Learner families to participate in outdoor, recreational, and environmental education activities. They provide supervision, transportation, food, and all necessary equipment and bikes for mountain bike rides.

Glacier Peak Institute is a local Darrington, WA non-profit that empowers youth through action-based science education so they can play an active role in building resilient rural communities and ecosystems across the Glacier Peak region. Their mountain bike group get's kids that would normally never have access to mountain bikes on the trails and learning about trail building and eco systems.

Founded in 1979 in the Pacific Northwest, Outdoors for All is a national leader in delivering adaptive and therapeutic recreation for children and adults with disabilities. Each year more than 3,000 individuals exercise their abilities thanks to the training and support of more than 850 volunteers.

Bike Works is a Seattle inner city non-profit that promotes the bicycle as a vehicle for change to empower youth and build resilient communities. Their earn-a-bike youth program teaches kids how to build and repair every part of the bike they are earning and engage them in riding programs.

Team Semper Fi focuses on using mountain biking as a way for disabled vets and those strugling with PTSD to maintain community, feel like they are part of team and provide a sense of healing.

WMBC is our local trail advocacy group responsible for all the trails in our local area. They have a focus on building and maintaining trails as well as extensive youth programs to engage young people in riding and building.

Radical Rippers MTB Program started as Bellingham's first development team for junior girls and has grown into a multi-faceted educational program for girls ages 10-16. Offering fun, safe, and progressive mountain bike classes, camps, group rides, and team opportunities. The Radical Rippers Program exists to give young riders around Bellingham, WA opportunities to hone their skills on their mountain bikes with professional female coaches while building a supportive community of like-minded girls.

Shifting Gears is a Bellingham non-profit creating inclusive recreation experiences that encourage confidence, wellness, growth and joy. Shifting gears provides fun and approachable mountain bike rides for women who are new to the outdoors or just looking for group of people to connect with on the trails.

The GGR crew is all about using gravity to go fast on bikes! The Galbraith Gravity Race Team takes riders aged 5-18 and connects them with world class coaches, sponsors, & riding opportunities.

Grow Cycling works to sustainably grow our industry by building authentic foundations of diversity from within that don't employ superficial or exploitive solutions. With ears on the ground in these communities, we can provide the education, access, and opportunities that directly address the barriers they face.
